Supported Events
Shows, Events and other Meccano support
In addition to our own Club meetings and our exhibition, we give as much support as we can to other exhibitions around the country. We exhibit at the annual International Meccano show at Skegness - Skegex and at The Henley Gathering.
We supported the Bristol Model Engineering Society annual show at Thornbury in mid August each year, although this event was not held in 2019. This was a large event with model steam engines, aircraft, boats and most other model making including Meccano.
We are pleased to give presentations on Meccano to other clubs and societies when requested to spread interest in Meccano and engineering topics generally, particularly for our young adults as a possible career path. This includes supporting Cubs and Scouts achievement of their ‘Model Badge’. For these events, we make up kits of Meccano components with instructions and let the children have a go.
Our members are frequent contributors of articles for publication in various Meccano Club magazines and have had Modelplans published.
