2014 Portishead

Our club members did sterling service at Portishead Methodist Church Hall on 13th September, supporting a fund-raising exhibition of model building sponsored by Portishead Rotary Club. Six of our members were present and between them they seemed to occupy most of the hall. A steady stream of visitors showed great interest and enthusiasm for the display and the Rotary Club were very grateful for our support. Exhibiting were:
Pete Evans and Malcolm Hanson brought along exploding battleships to add to Michael Edwards’ exhibit from Thornbury. The display was nicknamed “The Battle of the River (Tin) Plate”. Malcolm also brought along his Eiffel Tower to dominate the skyline.

Our multiple prize winning members Richard Smith and Neil Bedford exhibited the Duchess locomotive (RS) and Routemaster Bus (NB) shown elsewhere and behind Pete below. Last, but not least, Mervyn Bishop brought along his “Meccano Dare Devils”display, handing out sticky certificates to anyone who completed the course.

A grand day out!
